What is the cost of a commission?
Cost varies depending on surface size, subject, shipping, and level of detail requested. I will respond to your initial inquiry with an estimated cost and we will move from there.
I do require a 50% deposit for all commissions to begin work. This will allow me to purchase supplied/materials for the project.
What is the process for a commission?
Step 1: Complete the above form and begin a conversation with Chrissy to determine whether or not the project is the right fit.
Step 2: Flesh out the details of the requested artwork including size, subject, surface, composition, and color scheme. The customer can provide as much detail as they want or leave some things up to Chrissy’s creativity.
Step 3: The Customer and Chrissy will both complete the commission agreement which will lay out timeline, cost, and more. Upon completion of this agreement the customer will pay the 50% deposit required to begin work.
Step 4: Chrissy will complete a sketch of the desired artwork and send it to the customer within 2 weeks of the commission agreement being completed. This sketch will allow the customer to make any changes to subject or composition at this time. The artist reserves the right to adjust pricing depending on complexity of changes.
Step 5: Once the sketch is approved by the customer Chrissy will begin the final piece. Timeline for completion will be based on the commission agreement signed by both parties at the beginning of this process.
Step 6: Before presenting the final artwork Chrissy will show the piece to the customer for any last minute, small changes. Note, Chrissy will not accept changes to the overall subject, or composition at this time.
Step 7: The artwork is completed and shipped to the customer <3.
Why do I need to complete this form?
The completion of the commission request form allows me to easily manage my incoming requests. It also allows me to easily gauge estimated price and timeline prior to opening a conversation with the customer.
What is the timeline for a commission to be completed?
The timeline for each commission will be laid out in the commission agreement and agreed to by both parties. Average completion time is 2 months after the agreement is signed by both parties. This is subject to change dependent on level of complexity, and more. For a more accurate timeline please complete the above form and Chrissy will get back to you!
Do I get to offer feedback during the process?
Absolutely! Feedback is encouraged throughout the process, but most importantly (1) during initial discussions with Chrissy; and (2) when you receive the sketch for review.
